EMEC Land Management team are experienced in undertaking a wide range of pond and wetland habitat creation schemes. The team have worked across the East Midlands with recent pond creation projects carried out in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Our staff have experience of creating ponds for great crested newt mitigation, creation of wet scrapes for breeding waders and restoration of wetland habitats to benefit a wide range of species including invertebrates and water vole.
Combining a sound ecological background with the skills and experience to undertake practical habitat creation; our team are able to use both traditional techniques such as excavation and clay puddling to create new wetland features and also use of innovative solutions and new materials on challenging sites, such as use of geo-textiles and bentonite liners.
Our team are also experienced with the installation of water management structures including earth and pipe bunds and sluices and the re-profiling of drainage channels.
